Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. welcome his father Joey Porter Sr. into the Hall of Honor Class of 2025 on Saturday.
For many fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 32nd overall pick of Joey Porter Jr. was a relatable, full-circle moment. His father, Joey Porter Sr., was a Super Bowl legend in the Steel City. Now, Porter got to watch his father be honored by the team he grew up with.

In Jalen Ramsey’s first interview with the Pittsburgh media, he mentioned family ties and legacies. He specifically was referring to the Porters. No one has deeper family roots on the roster than his son Porter Jr., who welcomed his father into the Hall of Honor.
On Saturday, Porter Sr. was announced as an inductee to the Hall of Honor Class of 2025.
“Congratulations to the 2025 Hall of Honor class,” Porter said in a Steelers social media post. “Shout out to my dad for being a part of this year’s class.”
Porter watched his father play seven of his nine seasons in Pittsburgh. This included being on the field for their Super Bowl XL victory celebration.
“It was an honor and a privilege to watch you play throughout your career–and see you put on for Steelers Nation,” Porter continued. “Thank you for showing me what it means to be a Steeler.”
For the Steelers, getting the most out of both Porters would be a rare and incredible sight. Perhaps what would be even more notable is adding a ring to the Porter family tree.
