Behind the Steel Curtain
The Pittsburgh Steelers trail the Los Angeles Chargers 15-3 at the time of writing after the Chargers kicked a long field goal to extend their lead to 12. On that drive, though, the Steelers lost their second cornerback of the night.
Joey Porter Jr. left the game after what looked like a hand injury. He flew over a tackle and came down awkwardly on his left hand before being walked off the field by trainers. The Steelers already lost Darius Slay to a concussion earlier in the night, so they will have to get creative with what they do in the secondary.
James Pierre stepped in for Slay and has played well. Considering the continued lack of depth at safety, though, Jalen Ramsey may have to stay back at safety while the Steelers play musical chairs at cornerback.
The Steelers’ offense has looked very rough through two and a half quarters, as they are 0-for-7 on third down, and have yet to find the end zone.
