Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow could make his return on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

The Bengals will host the Patriots on Sunday, and Burrow has been practicing. Although Cincinnati hasn’t confirmed Burrow will start at quarterback, star receiver Tee Higgins said Burrow is looking “outstanding” in practice.

“Joe’s been looking outstanding, man,” Higgins said on Thursday to reporters. “He’s slinging it deep, short routes. Everything’s been pretty good.”

Although Higgins said Burrow is looking excellent, he wants his star quarterback not to play unless he’s 100 percent healthy.

However, Higgins thinks Burrow is completely healthy and is hopeful he will be out there on Sunday.

“He needs to take as much time as he needs, but I mean, he looks good,” Higgins said. “If he’s ready, then I’m ready. Take as much time as you need to get back to 100 percent, which I think he is (at) now.”

Despite Burrow practicing and Higgins thinking he’s looked good, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has yet to confirm that the star QB will play on Sunday against the Patriots.

But if Burrow does, he will pose another challenge to the Patriots’ defense, which will be tested against the high-powered Bengals offense, even though Cincinnati is without Ja’Marr Chase due to a suspension.

New England will go on the road to play the Bengals on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
