Joe Burrow’s apparent crash out this week just opened to door for either the New York Giants or New York Jets to do all they can to attempt a trade for the superstar QB early next year.
It has been another frustrating season for the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite having three of the best offensive players in the league, they enter Week 15 of the season with a sad 4-9 record. Their defense is again among the worst in the league, and their star quarterback again suffered a major injury that had him out for a significant amount of time.

As they head to a third straight season missing the NFL playoffs, Burrow had an unexpected crash-out moment during his weekly conversation with Cincy media on Wednesday.
“If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing this,” Burrow said. “I have been through a lot. If it’s not fun, then what am I doing it for? That is the mindset I am trying to bring to the table… There are a lot of things going on right now. A lot of things are going on.”
Are the Bengals likely to move on from their frustrated star? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean QB-needy teams around the league should not check in about his availability. And two of those calls should come from the New York/New Jersey area.
When healthy, the 29-year-old is a top-three QB in the NFL. That should appeal to any team that doesn’t have the other two. He could be a transcendent talent for a struggling franchise, which both the New York Giants and Jets are.
At first glance, a Burrow trade for the G-Men may not make sense. Since they are high on the potential of Jaxson Dart. But has he truly done enough to give Giants fans serious confidence about his future? Especially when he has already shown potential concussion concerns?
The Giants have some nice pieces on offense, including Malik Nabers, if he can fully recover from his ACL tear. Adding a superstar like Burrow could elevate all those players and the entire franchise.
The Giants could potentially have the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft. A deal that includes the top pick, possibly Dart, and future picks might be enough to make the Bengals consider a trade.
When it comes to the Jets, Gang Green should be all in on a trade for Burrow. Could they go with a top QB in this year’s draft class instead? Sure, and that wouldn’t be a terrible idea in 2026. However, the organization has been down that road often in the last two decades. They badly need a face...
