Joe Burrow announces he’s back

The 3-8 Cincinnati Bengals are riding a four-game losing streak as they prepare to travel to Baltimore to face the 6-5 Ravens in their first-ever Thanksgiving game. They’re not eliminated from the playoffs, but it would just take another loss to kill their hopes, and even winning out is no guarantee of playing football in late January.

Yet, there is, somehow, hope.

That comes in the form of franchise quarterback Joe Burrow, who announced his return to the team on Instagram.

The Bengals finished with a 9-8 record in 2024, and Burrow put up MVP numbers, and Ja’Marr Chase won the Triple Crown. The Bengals still missed the playoffs, largely thanks to a patented Zac Taylor slow start and a terrible defense.

The Bengals got off to a 2-0 start in 2025, but they lost Burrow to a turf toe injury that required surgery in Week 2, Jake Browning forgot how to play football, the defense somehow got worse, and everything that could have gone wrong has.

But Burrow is back now. Whether that will be enough is yet to be seen.
