Earlier this week, Pro Bowl pass rusher TJ Watt signed a contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Reports indicate Watt’s deal is worth $123 million, with $108 million fully guaranteed at signing.
TJ Watt’s new deal is also historic, as it makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.
His new deal is so big, in fact, that he’ll earn just $6 million less over the next three seasons than he older brother JJ earned over the entirety of his 12-year-long NFL career.
Following the news of his brother’s historic deal, JJ took to Twitter to playfully rib his brother over the fact that he’ll be the one paying for dinner for the foreseeable future.
I swear, if this guy even lets me begin to reach for my wallet at dinner… https://t.co/R52TsWBgYP

With Watt signing his contract extension, the Pittsburgh Steelers now have all the pieces in place for what is going to be a fascinating 2025 season, to say the least.
Not only did the team trade for mercurial wide receiver DK Metcalf but they also signed controversial quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who spent the last two seasons in New York making more headlines than touchdowns.
