Gang Green Nation
In the New York Jets’ 15th game of the 2025 season, inside the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Jets lost to the New Orleans Saints, 29 – 6, for their 12th loss of the season and their fifth loss in the last six games.
The first half saw the Jets and the Saints trade field goals in one of the most boring displays of inept offense we’ve seen in recent memory. The Saints kicked one more field goal than the Jets as they took a 9 – 6 lead into the locker room.
Neither team could get anything going on offense in the third quarter until the Saints put together a drive late in the quarter that ended with Tyler Shough hitting a wide-open Chris Olave for a 23-yard touchdown and a 16 – 6 Saints lead as the third quarter ended. With the way the Jets were playing on offense, a double-digit deficit heading into the fourth quarter looked all but insurmountable.
On the Jets first possession of the fourth quarter Brady Cook was sacked and fumbled. The Saints recovered, setting the Saints up with great field position near midfield. The Saints couldn’t do much with the opportunity. Eventually they settled for a 50-yard field goal and a 19 – 6 lead with a little more than 11 minutes remaining in the game. At this point the game was effectively over, and we had 11 minutes of garbage time featuring a completely ineffective Brady Cook to look forward to.
It didn’t take long for Cook to deliver. Faced with a fourth and six, Cook threw a gift-wrapped interception in the Festivus spirit right to a Saints defender.
The Saints took advantage, putting together another field goal drive to take a 22 – 6 lead with a little more than five minutes remaining in the game.
The Saints got the ball back shortly thereafter and with two minutes to go they decided to rub it in with a Taysom Hill trick play 38 yard bomb for a touchdown to Chris Olave.
Final score: Saints 29, Jets 6.
The Jets drop to 3-12 on the season. Just two more weeks before this abomination of a Jets season mercifully ends. Next week the Jets are home to take on the first place New England Patriots.
