In the New York Jets’ 14th game of the 2025 season, on a breezy and balmy day in Jacksonville, Florida, the Jets lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 48 – 20, for their 11th loss of the season.

The first half saw the Jets get manhandled by the Jaguars offense. The Jaguars moved the ball at will en route to four first half touchdowns and a 31 – 10 halftime lead. The game looked out of reach going into the second half.

The Jets opened the second half with a short drive for a field goal to get within 18 points at 31 – 13. They were going to need to score touchdowns to have any chance at making this game interesting.

The overmatched Jets defense gave the points right back and then some, as the Jaguars responded with a long drive culminating in a Trevor Lawrence touchdown pass to Travis Etienne. The score was 38 – 13 and the game was all but over midway through the third quarter.

The Jaguars tacked on another field goal to make the score 41 – 13 going into the fourth quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter Isaiah Davis broke free for a long run for a touchdown as the Jets pulled within three scores at 41 – 20. It took the Jaguars less than a minute to respond. Travis Etienne took a short pass and turned it into a 45 yard catch and run touchdown. It was Etienne’s third touchdown of the game and gave the Jaguars a 48 – 20 lead as the Jets defense continued to implode.

With just under 10 minutes left in the game the Jets recovered a Dyami Brown fumble deep in Jaguars territory, giving them a great scoring opportunity. A few plays later Brady Cook threw an interception in the end zone to continue the Jets’ humiliation.

Neither team scored the rest of the way as the Jaguars inserted their backups for some developmental reps. Final score: Jaguars 48, Jets 20.

The Jets drop to 3-11 on the season. Now the Jets prepare to go on the road to face the New Orleans Saints next week.
