In the New York Jets’ third and final game of the 2025 preseason, the Jets take on the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
With just three preseason games these days, the third game tends to offer little in the way of starters playing time. The Jets have already confirmed many starters will not see any action at all today. Thus, we will be watching a bunch of back of the roster type players play marginal NFL football while fighting for the final open roster spots. Tonight is the final chance for the so-called bubble players to make their mark and put something good on tape. NFL jobs, whether with the Jets or elsewhere, are on the line.
One thing to keep an eye on is the order of when players enter the game. This tends to correspond pretty closely to the team’s depth chart, so we get a glimpse at who might be leading their positions in the battles for the final roster spots on the team. If your favorite bubble guy enters the game early and exits early, he’s probably making the team. If your favorite bubble guy doesn’t get into the game until the second half and plays until the final whistle, he’s probably not making the team.
