Gang Green Nation
In the New York Jets’ final game of the 2025 season, on a dreary January day in Orchard Park, New York, the Jets lost to the Buffalo Bills, 35 – 8, for their 14th loss of the season and their seventh loss in the last eight games.
The first half saw the Jets completely outclassed by the Bills backups. The Jets did not get a first down until midway through the second quarter on the way to a 21 – 0 halftime deficit. With Brady Cook under center putting up 24 yards passing in the half the game was all but over. The Jet were not even pretending to care about winning.
The Jets started on offense in the third quarter. It did not go well. They turned the ball over on downs, giving the Bills instant great field position at the Bills 46 yard line. The Bills eventually turned that possession into a fourth down Mitchell Trubisky touchdown pass. The Bills then made a two-point conversion for a 29 – 0 lead midway through the third quarter. The fact that the Jets were being toyed with by the Bills backups spoke volumes.
The third quarter ended with the score still 29 – 0. The Bills had great field position near midfield, and the Jets were still on the field. Brady Cook was cooking, with 28 passing yards on 16 attempts. For those who thought the Jets needed to see what they had in Cook, the answer is the same as war, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. Humiliation was the order of the day, and the Bills were eager to oblige.
A few plays into the fourth quarter Ty Johnson celebrated his release from Jets bondage a few years back with his second touchdown of the day. A two point try failed and the Bills led 35 – 0 early in the fourth quarter.
Midway through the fourth quarter Brady Cook connected with Andrew Beck on a short touchdown pass. Quentin Skinner caught the two point conversion attempt to bring the score to 35 – 8. The Jets were within four touchdowns with a little over seven minutes remaining. It was anybody’s game, if by anybody you meant the Bills.
The Bills proceeded to run out the clock, dashing the Jets’ hopes of losing by just three scores. Final score: Bills 35, Jets 8.
The Jets drop to 3-14 on the season. That’s a wrap. One of the worst seasons in the inglorious history of this wretched franchise is finally over. After more than half a century of watching and rooting for this accursed team, I can say with some confidence this was the most embarrassing garbage pathetic excuse for a football team the Jets have ever fielded. Good riddance to bad rubbish. A busy offseason awaits.
