The New York Jets executed a fire sale before the NFL trade deadline. They sent away cornerback Sauce Gardner, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and cornerback Michael Carter II.

This left wide receiver Garrett Wilson as the lone $100-million man on the Jets roster.

However, ESPN’s Rich Cimini on Monday reported that not even Wilson will be active for New York this Thursday when it travels to Foxboro to take on the 8-2 New England Patriots.

“Bad news for the #Jets offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, source says,” Cimini posted on X.

Last week Wilson played just 19 snaps in the win over the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback Justin Fields finished that game 6-for-11 in the air for 54 yards, 42 of which came on a screen pass to running back Breece Hall. Excluding that chunk play on a pass behind the line of scrimmage, Fields was 5-of-10 for 12 yards.

The healthy receivers remaining for the Jets are Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson, Isiah Williams and the newly acquired John Metchie III.

New England also could see veteran wideout Allen Lazard, who has been a healthy scratch on numerous occasions this season, or second-year receiver Adonai Mitchell, who was traded to the Jets in the Gardner deal.

The Jets’ passing attack ranks last in the league in yards, tallying just 1,294 through nine games.

Wilson’s injury is a big blow for the Jets, who already had their work cut out for them visiting the No. 1 rushing defense in the league in a short week.
