New York Jets running back Breece Hall is hoping to get revenge on the Pittsburgh Steelers to start the 2025 season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the New York Jets on the road to kick off the 2025 regular season, and Jets star running back Breece Hall is hoping to get some revenge following the Steelers’ 37-15 routing a year ago.

“We owe the Steelers one,” Hall said on the “Get Got Pod with Marshawn Lynch & Mike Robinson.” “They got us last year. I’ve got to get Aaron [Rodgers]. I’ve got to get Aaron, play him first game.”

Hall managed just 38 yards on 12 carries (3.2 yards per carry) in the loss against Pittsburgh last season. And now, the two teams have swapped quarterbacks.

The Jets signed quarterback Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract, with $30 million guaranteed in March. And the Steelers finally landed Rodgers earlier this month on a one-year, $13.65 million contract, which includes $10 million guaranteed.

However, Fields wasn’t a part of the two teams’ Week 7 matchup last season. After leading Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start, he was benched for fellow quarterback Russell Wilson.

Many have debated if that is the reason why Fields opted to join New York, instead. But it has since been reported that the guaranteed money was the difference in the 26-year-old’s decision.

The Steelers will soon find out if that was the right decision, now with 41-year-old Rodgers, who admitted the 2025 season will likely be his last.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said. “You know, that’s why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had. I mean, I’ve played 20 freaking years. It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it. What better place to finish than (with) one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL.”

Either way, there’s no doubt that the Steelers and Jets Week 1 meeting is one of the more interesting games of the 2025 season, and Hall is only adding to the storylines.
