New York Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson epitomized the infamous “typical WR tweet: the enemy speaks kindly and holds a knife” meme as the fourth-year Gang Green pass catcher took to social media to muse about the letter “W.”
Either knowingly or accidentally playing into the stereotype about NFL wide recievers, the former Ohio State University standout took to Twitter to say that, “Spelling ‘W’ doesn’t have a ‘W’ in it… I came out to doubleYou. Only letter in the alphabet spelt, without using itself.”
Truly galaxy-brained stuff there, Garrett. Maybe the effects of Aaron Rodgers can still be felt lingering around the Jets organization after all.

Despite the chaos surrounding the Jets’ QB position since he was drafted by the team out of OSU in 2022, Wilson has been a bright spot for the organization during his first three seasons in the NFL as he’s had at least 83 catches and 1,042 yards in each of them.
As a result, the still 24-year-old Wilson is the first Jet with 80-plus receptions in his first three seasons and is one of only seven wide receivers to accomplish that feat in NFL history.
Typical QB tweet: love my teammates god is good!
RB tweet: keep grindin
TE tweet: derp
WR tweet: the enemy speaks kindly & holds a knife

Wilson and his old Ohio State teammate Justin Fields, who is the new starting quarterback of the New York Jets following the departure of Aaron Rodgers, will coincidentally open their 2025 season against Rodgers’ new team, the Steelers.
According to reports in late 2024, Wilson got to sick of Rodgers, in fact, that he didn’t want to be with the team in 2025 if the future Hall of Fame signal caller retured.
