Recently there has been contract extension talk in the news regarding the Jets Draft Class of 2022. The team has reportedly begun discussing long-term extensions with Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson.
Jermaine Johnson was the team’s third pick in the opening round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He is returning from a serious injury. It makes sense for the Jets to see how he looks when he returns before pursuing anything contractually.
Breece Hall is the final high pick from 2022. Unlike Gardner, Wilson, and Johnson, he was a second round pick. That means he has no fifth year option in his contract. To put it more succinctly, he is a free agent after this season.
We haven’t heard any contract discussions happen yet between the two sides.
