The position certainly looks weak.

The wide receiver position is full of uncertainty for the New York Jets. Garrett Wilson is a reliable number one option, but after him there is a rather dramatic drop in quality. The other wide receivers include Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith, Malachi Corley, and Xavier Gipson. There probably isnβt a starting level wideout in that group.
That brings up our SB Nation Reacts question of the week. Should the Jets sign a wide receiver with a bigger resume. Even at this stage of the year, there are players with very good resumes available in free agency like Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper. Players like this are clearly on the downsides of their respective careers and might not have much left in the tank. Still, itβs possible they have more to offer than the current receivers on the roster.
