When a new leadership group comes in there is usually a fair amount of change.
The Jets have experienced significant change within the coaching ranks over the last two weeks, and now that change is filtering through to the front office.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Jets have decided to part ways with Co-Director of Player Personnel Greg Nejmeh, a front office executive who’s been with the Jets for 16 years and has not only survived but flourished after regime changes.
With new leadership coming in, the Jets and Co-Director of Player Personnel Greg Nejmeh have mutually parted ways, sources tell @NFLonCBS Nejmeh served 16 years within the organization in a variety of roles and will now seek opportunities with other teams.
This is a notable parting considering the roles that Nejmeh has held with the Jets and how quickly it has come in relation to new GM Darren Mougey taking over.
It remains to be seen what happens with Jon Carr, who was the other Co-Director of Player Personnel, but I can’t imagine that the reshuffling stops with Nejmeh.
This parting comes just one month before free agency begins and considering he was responsible (in part) with pro personnel, it’s an interesting decision.
Aaron Glenn has brought a few of his guys, it’s only a matter of time before Darren Mougey does the same thing.
