The New York Jets have won three of their last five games after they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 27 – 24 on Sunday.

The Jets were outgained and outplayed for most of the game. They had zero sustained drives until midway through the fourth quarter, when they put together a long touchdown drive to tie the game. The only thing keeping the Jets in the game was success on special teams, as the Jets got a turnover on a Falcons punt return to set up a one play, two-yard touchdown drive early in the game, and got an 85 yard Isaiah Williams kickoff return to set up another short field scoring drive starting on the Falcons’ 15 yard line. Without those two plays on special teams the Jets would never have been in position to win the game. However, the Jets managed to hang around until they finally put things together on offense late in the fourth quarter. Adonai Mitchell provided most of the offense and Nick Folk had just enough leg to sneak a ball through the uprights as time expired to give the Jets a thrilling last second triumph.

Next week the Jets get another winnable game, at least on paper. The 3-9 Jets will be home to take on the 5-7 Miami Dolphins next Sunday. The Dolphins lost six of their first seven games this season before rebounding with four victories in their last five games. This week they struggled to put away a terrible New Orleans Saints team before finally prevailing, 21 – 17. The Dolphins are a notoriously bad cold weather team, struggling mightily when the temperature drops below 40. With winter temperatures settling in around northern New Jersey, the improving Jets should have a shot in this game.

Let’s take a look at the current odds for this game according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The current line has the Jets home underdogs by 2.5 points. The game has an over/under of 41.5 points. On the moneyline the Jets are +130 and the Dolphins are -150.
