Earlier this week, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson spoke to the media about his team’s 0-7 start to the 2025 season, which makes them the only winless team in the National Football League. And as far as Johnson is concerned, a majority of the blame can be placed at the feet of quarterback Justin Fields.
While Woody Johnson more or less backed rookie head coach Aaron Glenn, he didn’t hold back his opinion of Justin Fields, who he essentially accused of not being able to complete a forward pass — which, in fairness to Johnson, is largely true.
“It’s hard when you have a quarterback with the rating that we’ve got.. If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you’re going to see similar results. If we can just complete a pass, it would look good,” Johnson told the media on Tuesday.
With those comments, it seemed likely that the Jets were going to turn to Tyrod Taylor as their new starting QB, but according to Glenn, Taylor is dealing with a knee injury and is currently considered “day to day,” meaning Gang Green may have to insert Fields back in the line-up immediately after being ostracized by Johnson.
On my life if I am Justin Fields I’m not playing another snap for that team https://t.co/w1MjZ7z6Q0
