The New York Knicks have become the talk of the town with their latest NBA Championship. Offensive lineman Joe Tippmann is hoping to have a celebration like their basketball counterparts someday.

Although he does admit some of that celebration was a bit jarring, Tippmann loved seeing the fans’ excitement. If the Jets do ever win a Super Bowl, New York will be on fire once more, via SNY.

“It’s been nuts – I didn’t go into the city, looked a little scary for my taste,” Tippmann said. “But to see the way they’re celebrating, that makes me even more want to bring a championship back to New York.”

The Jets recently signed Tippmann to a four-year, $62 million contract extension. He has committed to the franchise for the long haul. If New York is going to get back into contention, the Jets are expecting Tippman to be a part of it.

The interior lineman has appeared in 50 games since his arrival in 2023, starting 48 of them. He started all 17 games in 2026, earning a 66 grade from Pro Football Focus that ranked 33/81 guards. His 69 pass blocking grade ranked 23rd.

But Tippmann can’t do it all on his own. New York hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2010. They haven’t finished even second in the AFC East since 2015. Rome, like the Jets, wasn’t built in a day. But the franchise is looking for some form of success sooner than later.

Their parade may be delayed, but Tippmann is eager to try and get the Jets back into contention. His only hope is if/when New York does win the title is that no busses are lit on fire.
