We know that as long as he is healthy, Justin Fields will start at quarterback for the Jets in Week 1 when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
How long will Fields remain the Jets starting quarterback, though? There is no universal definition for a successful 2025 season for Fields. Success can mean different things to different people, making Fields difficult to evaluate.
With that in mind, I came up with my own definition. If Fields is the undisputed starting quarterback for the Jets heading into the 2026 season, it probably means he played well in 2025. Obviously, things don’t always work out so neatly, but the odds are you don’t change your quarterback if he plays well. (The reverse is also true.)
This week for our SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked Jets fans whether they expect Fields to remain the starting quarterback in 2026.
