I have to say that this results surprised me a bit.
It wasn’t anything negative about Reich. I just expected Karl Dunbar to be the choice. Dunbar gained wide respect within the Jets fanbase for his work during his first stint with the team under Rex Ryan. Since he will be coaching the team’s top Draft pick, David Bailey, Dunbar is arguably the most important position coach the Jets have in 2026.
Of course, offensive coordinator is another critical job on an NFL coaching staff. Reich brings plenty of experience. Last year’s offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand was a first time playcaller. It seems like Jets fans believe a seasoned hand will serve the team well.
