Jets Done With Aaron Rodgers, Steelers Favorites to Land Him
Steelers Now Steelers Now

Aaron Rodgers won’t be back in Gotham green next season. Multiple reports say his time with the New York Jets is over. According to betting odds posted by sportsbetting.ag, the future Hall of Fame quarterback could very well be suiting up for the Pittsburgh Steelers soon.

The website lists the Steelers as having even odds to add Rodgers, who went 6-12 in 18 starts with the Jets. Following Pittsburgh are San Francisco (3/1), New Orleans (5/1), Las Vegas (7/1), Seattle and Cleveland (10/1), and the New York Giants (12/1).

Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer posted about Aaron Rodgers’ situation Sunday.

“Big scoopage: Aaron Rodgers flew back to New Jersey last week to meet with the Jets about his future with the team, only to be told that the team was moving on from him,” Glazer wrote on X. “If that means that he will be a June 1 designation that allows him to sign with any team in the league on March 12 if he decides to continue to play.”

The fact that Rodgers was interested in hashing things out with the Jets likely means he wants to play on, Glazer added. Rodgers is 41 years old and would be entering his 21st season as a professional. Since winning his fourth NFL MVP in 2021, he is 14-21 as a starter.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter said the same day that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both remain in the mix to return to the Steelers next season. The latter, he said, has a market that includes interest from other teams. The Steelers would be going in an entirely different direction by bringing in Aaron Rodgers instead.

Rodgers sports the lowest career interception percentage (1.4%) in NFL history, though his pick totals in his last two full seasons are among the highest of his career.
