Jets add at premium positions in 2026 PFF mock draft

Pro Football Focus has released their latest mock draft. The Jets own a pair of first round picks and have needs all over their roster. The mock has them addressing two of the most valuable positions on the field.

2. New York Jets: QB Dante Moore, Oregon

As long as Moore enters the draft, the Jets will likely select whichever quarterback the Raiders don’t take. Moore’s 90.3 PFF passing grade is fifth among all quarterbacks in the nation this year, while his 30 big-time throws are tied for the most.

16. New York Jets (via Indianapolis Colts): CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee

The Jets acquired this pick from the Colts as part of the trade for cornerback Sauce Gardner, which left New York with a glaring hole in its secondary. McCoy could be the next shutdown corner for the Jets. Even though he missed all of this season with a torn ACL, he was still outstanding as a true sophomore in 2024 with an 89.6 PFF coverage grade (ninth in FBS).

Moore drew plenty of attention with an uneven performance in Oregon’s Peach Bowl semifinal loss to Indiana. If he enters the NFL Draft, he will be a very real possibility for the Jets with the second overall pick.

McCoy is a tougher one. In this mock, the pick the Jets use to select him is one they received in the Sauce Gardner trade. I was under the impression that the Gardner trade was about the Jets reallocating their resources and loading up on offensive talent around the next quarterback.

I know the Jets also need a lot of work on the defensive side of the ball, but to trade Sauce Gardner and use one of the high picks received in the deal to pick a cornerback prospect coming off a torn ACL just seems…like a tough sell to me.
