Jesse Minter completes HC interview with Ravens

Over the past few days following the end to the Chargers’ 2025 season, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has been requested to interview with every single team that is currently searching for a new head coach outside of the Steelers.

On Wednesday, the Baltimore Ravens were the most recent team to announce they had completely an interview with Minter, marking an interesting and potential transition from John Harbaugh to a coach who was just recently calling the defense for his brother in Los Angeles.

The Ravens had taken a step back the last two seasons on the defensive side following the departure of Mike Macdonald who took over the Seahawks following Pete Carroll’s firing in early 2024. For years, Baltimore’s calling card had been their defense, led by the likes of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and other former franchise greats. However, that identity has nearly evaporated and it seemingly played a role in the eventual firing of John Harbaugh.

Minter would certainly get the Ravens back to where they want to be with that unit, and I don’t think he’d have any issue finding a new offensive play-caller given the vast wealth of up-and-coming names across the league, including some of the youngest names being interviewed right now for other head coach openings.

As one of the many who does not want to see Minter leave, at least the Ravens aren’t in the same division. However, I’m sure we’d all much prefer him to land the NFC over at one of the AFC’s recent powers.
