When Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones traded superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, it stunned the NFL world.
Perhaps even more stunning was the return. Jones sent Parsons, whom many believe is the league’s best pass rusher, to Green Bay in exchange to defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a pair of draft picks that look likely to fall toward the back end of the first round.
But as it turns out, Jones had another trade in mind before shipping Parsons to the Packers.
Jerry Jones told @GaryMyersNY on @880ESPNNewYork that he called the Jets to see if they would be interested in trading for Micah Parsons, and he asked for Quinnen Williams and picks in return. The Jets told Jones they didn’t have the resources to deal.

Ahead of the Cowboys’ game against the NFC East rival New York Giants on Sunday, Jones did an interview with New York radio host Gary Myers. During the interview, he revealed that he attempted to trade Parsons to the New York Jets for a package involving star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, but the Jets declined.
Jones says that the Jets responded that they didn’t “have the resources” to get a deal done for Parsons. He went to state that a “prerequisite” of any Parsons deal was that the Cowboys get a “dominant” interior defensive player that the team could plug in immediately.
While Clark, 29, is a three-time Pro Bowler at defensive tackle, he’s also coming off the worst season of his career, according to Pro Football Focus.
Meanwhile, Parsons seems to be loving life in Green Bay. Not only did he sign the most lucrative deal in NFL history for any non-quarterback, but he also helped the Packers to an impressive 2-0 start to the season, all while trolling Jones in the process.
