Brian Schottenheimer will call offensive plays for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys introduced Brian Schottenheimer as their newest head coach by way of a press conference on Monday. You can check out all of the highlights from it right here.
It was a very vintage Dallas Cowboys press conference in that a lot of things were said that did not necessarily have to do with the point at hand. One of the more notable things to come out of it was certainly assumed, but it is now factual and can be built upon.
Schottenheimer will call offensive plays for the team. Jerry Jones noted that himself.
Among the things that Schottenheimer himself touched on was establishing a level of success in the run game. He noted that he was proud to have led two offenses in the past that were highly successful in that sense.
Schotty also spoke with great respect for his quarterback in Dak Prescott and mentioned that the two will be spending hours and hours together. He referred to having “the right guy” in Prescott and hopefully proclaimed that the duo (and team at large) would win a championship together.
We have discussed Schottenheimer’s history in terms of the offenses that he has overseen and there are some decent spots in his past, but certainly some questionable things as well. But whatever happens to him as the head coach, he will be calling the plays.
