For those of us of a certain age, “TNT knows drama” was a well-known saying. It often got used in pop culture sayings, at least for a short amount of time, when people were being dramatic.
When it comes to the Cleveland Browns quarterback competition, it has all the makings of being “TNT”, both in terms of being capable of being explosive but also capable of a lot of drama. Let’s look at the variables:
That is a crockpot ready for drama and, potentially, very volatile drama. We got our first glimpse of that possibility when Browns WR Jerry Jeudy was live on social media when he was asked who should be Cleveland’s starting quarterback. As noted on ESPN’s lead story, as of Monday morning’s headlines, the clip seems to indicate the receiver wants Watson, but the video looks altered:
In the TikTok video, Jeudy flashes four fingers on a livestream, which has been taken by many as a reference to Deshaun Watson, who wears the No. 4. However, the video appears to have been edited as there is a skip in the clip between when Jeudy shows his fingers and when the question is shown.
“Yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative,” Jeudy posted to X on Sunday.

Anyone watching can clearly see a skip in the video around the four-second mark. Jeudy was unhappy, to say the least:
Given all the combustible variables noted above, the “drama” surrounding the Jeudy video could be a preview of what is to come during Browns training camp. We’ve all gotten used to the QB tracker; this year we might get some version of a body language tracker as well.
Once upon a time, TNT knew drama. As Cleveland Browns training camp opens up, it will be interesting to see if the Jeudy video is truly just a preview of what is to come or a one-off issue.
