Jerry Jeudy Shoots Down Edited Video Claiming He Picked Deshaun Watson as Cleveland Browns’ QB1

NFL training camps are finally underway, and there’s no bigger storyline than a good, old-fashioned quarterback competition like the Cleveland Browns have going on right now. Someone who might have insight on that battle is Jerry Jeudy, one of the team’s leading receivers of the past two seasons.

Naturally, any information Jeudy offers on the Browns’ QB competition would be interesting intel, if he were offering any.

Jerry Jeudy Has NOT Picked Deshaun Watson as Browns’ QB1

Between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, the Browns do have a pretty intriguing QB stalemate. Watson, the former Pro Bowler who’s now getting a fresh start under a new coaching staff, and Sanders, the second-year pro who’s grown immensely since arriving as the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Watson missed all of last season with a torn Achilles; meanwhile, Sanders led the team in starts. Only now, when Sanders sees the field this time around, he’ll be surrounded by better weapons after the Browns upgraded their receiving corps.

But who does Jeudy, a former Pro Bowl receiver, want to be his QB for the 2026 season? He had a down year in 2025, recording just 602 yards and two touchdowns despite playing in all 17 games. It was the second-lowest mark of his career, and as noted, Sanders was the starter for seven of the Browns’ games last season.

On Sunday, a video started going around the internet of what appeared to be Jeudy siding with Watson in the Browns’ QB competition. But the 27-year-old receiver quickly debunked that theory by revealing that observers were actually looking at an edited video that didn’t show him responding to a question about his QB preference.

😭 yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative. Y’all can never get in between this shxt lol.

Jeudy added another tweet addressing the situation, questioning why anyone would even try to suggest he’s siding with one QB over the other.

Lmao yall just be lying so much for what ??

Whoever thought this was a good idea, it’s not fair to Jeudy. What kind of tension could something like this create inside a locker room? Thankfully, veterans aren’t set to report to Browns training camp until July 28, so this silly video will have time to fizzle out.

Still, it’s an important lesson to pay closer attention before believing everything seen on the internet, especially in videos. After all, the clip didn’t even include a question about the Browns’ QB1, and it clearly shows two different clipped segments.

This competition will need more time to play out, but eventually, first-year head coach Todd Monken will have to pick a side: Watson or Sanders.
