49ers QB Brock Purdy is finally eligible for a contract extension. By all accounts, that extension will happen this offseason

Everyone hopes San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and the team reach a rather anti-climatic contract extension.

Some project that Purdy will earn north of $200 million this offseason. All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner says the sky is the limit for Brock, so whatever money he receives will be well-earned.

49ers owner Jed York said he saw Purdy’s agent this week and said, “I know we want Brock here for a long, long time, and I believe we will make that work.”

The 49ers have been consistent with their message about keeping Purdy in the building for many years to come. This is the first offseason that Brock is eligible for an extension. The only question left is for the team to tell us how they value Purdy based on the compensation he’ll receive.

Warner spoke about how much Purdy grew as a leader in 2024. His statistics were down, but that’s to be expected when you’re down multiple weapons and your left tackle for the latter half of the season.

The only relevant matter is what the 49ers think about Purdy. Brock’s contract will tell us everything we need to know.
