The New England Patriots earned their second win of the season in dominant fashion on Sunday, picking up a 42-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers. They did so in front of a star-studded crowd that included several Boston Celtics players, with that group including superstar forward Jaylen Brown.
Ahead of the game, Brown led a contingent of Celtics players onto the field at Gillette Stadium, and he even showed off his football skills in the process. Patriots owner Robert Kraft brought the players up to the team’s Super Bowl collection as well, allowing the group to take a picture with the hardware.
The Pats did not disappoint with their play on the field, as they crushed the Panthers to get back on track after a disappointing Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. After the game, Brown sent a message to the team, congratulating them on their big win over Carolina.
“Great win from the Pats,” Brown said in a video posted on the Celtics’ official X account. “Appreciate you for inviting us to the game, we had a great time. Looking forward to the next one.”
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Patriots and the Boston Red Sox (who kick off their playoff campaign on Tuesday), and on Monday, the C’s will take the next step towards the new season by conducting their media day before kicking off training camp.
With several key departures this offseason, the spotlight is going to be on Brown to lead Boston forward in the 2025-26 NBA season. And as other teams in the region continue to excel, you can bet there’s going to be some extra motivation for Brown and the C’s to exceed expectations when they officially return to action in October.
