Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Josh Conerly Jr, Bill, and other Washington Commanders spoke to reporters after today’s practice. Daniels got the full presser treatment and talked about knowing what to expect going into Week 1 in his second season in the league. He brushed off a question about the expectations for him and the team being raised after last season. He doesn’t listen to outside noise, and focuses on improving his game. The Commanders continue to bring in more veteran leadership, and Daniels said he can see everyone buying in. He also praised his new RT Josh Conerly Jr, and talked about the versatility of the running backs room.
Terry McLaurin was a full go at today’s practice, and said he feels great and he’s ready to play on Sunday. He’s looking forward to another year with Jayden Daniels and in the same offense. He was asked about being on a snap count after missing training camp and the preseason. He said he would let the coaching staff know where he’s at, but said it was like riding a bike getting back on the field.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt is preparing for his first regular season NFL game, and he said it’s been a long journey and he’s been waiting a long time to get here. He loves the support he been getting from the fanbase since getting drafted in the 7th round, and said it makes him work harder. Bill also emphasized that draft position doesn’t matter if you can play ball.
