Jaxson Dart’s career path has mirrored Eli Manning’s up to this point, and the Ole Miss product who recently kicked off his rookie year with the Giants has been able to benefit from his relationship with the man who had the same trajectory. However, he learned there are limits to what the retired QB is willing to do after he tried to milk him for a highly sought-after restaurant reservation in New York City.

The New York Giants ended up doing pretty well for themselves the last time they landed a quarterback who played at Ole Miss before being picked in the first round of the NFL Draft. In 2004, the franchise traded for Eli Manning after he refused to play for the Chargers (who selected him first overall), and he ended up spending 16 seasons with the team while winning a couple of Super Bowls.

Jaxson Dart was not surrounded by the same amount of hype when he made the leap to the NFL after wrapping up his third season with the Rebels last year, but the Giants (who were in a position to land a young QB after bringing the Daniel Jones experiment to a merciful end) thought he showed enough potential in college to get him with the 25th overall selection toward the end of the first round.

The Giants tapped Russell Wilson to serve as their starter heading into the season, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time until a team that’s gotten off to an 0-2 start decides to give Dart the chance to show what he’s made of.

Eli Manning has made it clear he’s more than happy to serve as a mentor for the rookie who played at his alma mater, although there are apparently limits on how far he’s willing to go to help him out.

One of the perks that comes with playing for the Giants is the ability to take advantage of the many, many incredible restaurants New York City has to offer. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll have an easy time getting into those establishments.

Rao’s is probably the most exclusive restaurant in The Big Apple when you consider you need to know someone who has their own reserved table there to even get in the door, but celebrity hot spots like Carbone and Polo Bar spring to mind when it comes to reservations that are virtually impossible for the average person to land.

That’s also the case with 4 Charles Prime Rib, the hallowed eatery in the West Village best known for a Wagyu burger that will set you back over $50 if you opt for the bacon and egg that are almost essential additions as well as the French dip sandwich it’s known for.
