The Seattle Seahawks continue their tradition of weekly captains, announcing three on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Thursday Night captains are Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Coby Bryant and Eric Saubert.
Smith-Njigba has emerged as unquestionably the driving engine of Seattle’s offense. He has been a captain once before, leading the team in Week 11 of the 2024 season. Last season, JSN scored touchdowns in both matchups against the Cardinals. Bryant also had a pick-six in the home win versus Arizona and then another interception on the road.
Saubert, on the other hand, is new to the Seahawks this year. In fact, this is his eighth NFL team in his career. He plays tight end and a significant role on special teams. For his run blocking, he’s actually been one of the higher rated players on offense.
On the other side of the field, the Arizona Cardinals have a slew of captains for the whole season. Calais Campbell, who is very good, is one, while Kyler Murray, not as good, is also. James Conner was a captain, but whoo recently saw his season cut short.
