It is all fun when you can stay on the field and be productive, isn’t it? Well, even doing that and posting a career high in rushing yards (1,201) and touchdowns (11) wasn’t enough for folks to think he is a top back in this league again, and folks should disagree.
In an ESPN piece, scouts, coaches, and executives rank the top 10 running backs in football right now.
Per the article, Voters gave their own top 10 players at a position, then they compiled the results and ranked candidates based on the number of top-10 votes.
Composite average and dozens of interviews, with research and film study help from ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen as well as ESPN Research.
More than 70 voters submitted a ballot on at least one position, and in many cases all positions. Additional voting and follow-up calls with those surveyed contributed to placements.

Did Cowboys RB Javonte Williams get snubbed https://t.co/6QxtYPIraS

Look, Williams is not a top five back, that is not what I am saying, but if you can look me in the face and tell me you think Breece Hall is better, we can’t talk about this anymore.
Williams landed in the “received votes” category, which is lower than the honorable mentions section.
Hall is ranked 10 on the list, while the Super Bowl MVP is 9th, Kenneth Walker, so that is why I will stop at 10.
Williams, when healthy, is very close to being a top 10 running back in football, and the list always seems to fluctuate. The issue I have is that they love to rank these guys based on their name and sometimes not even the production they are putting up.
If you told me that Williams would go for 1,200 and 11 touchdowns, I think any team that does not have the top 5 running backs in football would take that.
The Cowboys’ offense is going to be a top 3 unit in football if they stay healthy, and expect Williams to make the jump inside the top 10 when the rankings come out again a year from now.
The offensive line, if they can clean up the penalties, will help produce more big plays on the ground. Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele are fighting for their job, so keep an eye on those tackles as we get into training camp and other parts of the summer like preseason.
Now, if Williams does find himself getting hurt, which I hope does not happen, the Cowboys seem to be content with what they are working with in terms depth as the RB2 and RB3.
The battle is wide open right now, and I have seen plenty say that Malik Davis is the safe bet, but...
