Jason and Travis Kelce were in close proximity to a black bear while at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe this Friday.

The brothers have a joint 7-0 record against the Chicago Bears and definitely aren’t worried about them. But a black bear is something entirely different, and anyone, even a formidable center or a bulldozing tight end, should be concerned if they ever come across one.

According to the Daily Mail, the Kelce brothers were preparing to tee off on the 16th hole during the first round when the wild animal was spotted just behind the tee box, causing a halt in play. While it was behind a fence, the bear was close enough to the siblings and the many spectators who came to watch.

The unwanted visit was particularly worrying as one bear was recently euthanized after attacking a camper at a site in South Lake Tahoe. The female black bear is said to have invaded several homes and vehicles before entering a trailer in the wee hours of the morning and taking a swipe at the occupant.

It was later killed by a State Parks ranger, with her two cubs placed in a Northern California wildlife rehabilitation facility.

Fortunately, the sighting involving the Kelces didn’t call for such measures, as their bear eventually wandered away.
