Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, are one of the most beloved couples around the NFL. Despite being two die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fans, they have earned a lot of appreciation from fans around the league. As sweet as their love story is, which includes four daughters and a strong marriage, there was a chance it never materialized.
The couple met on Tinder in the 2010s. After they agreed to go on a date, the retired center almost blew up the chance of getting together with the love of his life. During a 2023 appearance on Jason’s joint podcast with his brother Travis Kelce, “New Heights,” Kylie Kelce recalled her first date with the future Hall of Famer. The night featured a drunk Jason.
“You fell asleep 45 minutes after I got there on the bar table because he was too drunk,” she said.
“Not a good first date,” Jason Kelce responded. “(I) got a little bit too inebriated, but I was sober enough to know it was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. It was love at first sight.”
Kylie agreed to go on a date to see if the person behind the Tinder profile was actually an Eagles player or if she was being catfished. In the end, she confirmed that it was Jason Kelce, but the player’s state wasn’t the best. In the end, things worked out for the couple after Kylie agreed to go on a second date. They married in 2018, and the rest was history.
Unfortunately, Kylie suffered a miscarriage in 2018, a devastating event that Jason Kelce still remembers.
With the Kansas City Chiefs out of playoff contention for the first time since 2014, the rumors about a potential Travis Kelce retirement have circled the league. Jason Kelce offered his thoughts on the situation on Dec. 15, noting that his brother should take his time to make a decision.
“In my opinion, to nail that decision, you gotta step away from the game for a little bit. Play these last three games, enjoy them with your teammates, enjoy them with your coaches…And then let it sink in. It’ll come to you with time,” he said.
“There are so many emotions with this game right after a season, especially with the way this one’s been…Right now, it’s just too fresh. You’ve gotta step away from it, you’ve gotta think about it and then it’ll come to you.”
At 36, Travis Kelce isn’t as explosive as before. He has flirted with retirement since last season, and some think the Chiefs’ underwhelming 2024 campaign could be the deciding factor in this situation.
