The NFL might be America’s No. 1 source of sports-related entertainment.
Unfortunately, that has often come at the expense of the player’s health.
For years, we’ve seen the ripple effect and impact the game has had on multiple players’ lives.
CTE is a legitimate concern, and it’s also the reason why so many parents don’t want their sons to play football anymore.
That’s why it’s so disheartening to know that Jason Kelce believes he’s got CTE.
Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles legend admitted that he had some degree of the condition (via Dov Kleiman):
“I mean, I can virtually guarantee that I have CTE, all the research would suggest I have some degree of it… I think it is entirely reasonable to assume I have some degree of that pathology,” Kelce said.
Heartbreaking: The legendary Jason Kelce can ‘virtually guarantee’ that he has CTE:

Kelce played in the NFL for 13 years.
Add all the years playing in high school and college, and that’s two decades of getting hits on the head over and over, day after day.
The league has gone to great lengths to try to prevent this condition.
It took a long time before they even admitted it was real.
But now, with research, technology, and gear, they’re striving to make the game safer for the players.
Nevertheless, their desire to add more games to the schedule might not necessarily be in the players’ best interests, even if they make more money.
There’s no amount of money that’s worth a human life, and that’s also why we see so many players walk away from the game when they still had something left in the tank.
Kelce could’ve been the best center in the league last season, but it’s just so tough to endure the wear and tear and the big toll the game can take on the body.
