Some athletes are born with natural talent and seem to be destined for greatness from the start, while others need to work harder to achieve their goals.
Jason Kelce is an example of the second type of athlete.
He wasn’t heavily recruited heading into college, but played well enough at the University of Cincinnati to get an opportunity to be drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Not much was expected of him as a sixth-round pick, but the Eagles’ coaching staff recognized him as a special talent with a hard work ethic early in his career, allowing him plenty of opportunities to start and be a force on their offensive line.
Now, fans around the NFL know him as a legendary athlete for this franchise, and many believe he’s among the best centers to ever play the game.
He was asked about that in a recent appearance on the “Exciting Mics” podcast, as his former teammates wanted to know what it’s like to potentially go to the Hall of Fame.
Kelce didn’t hesitate in his response, saying, “I don’t even think that I’m the best player that I’ve played with in the NFL.”

Kelce is known for humility during his time on and off the field, and this statement is an example of that.
It would be shocking to most around the league if he weren’t a first-ballot Hall of Famer given his influence on the line, but he still maintains his position.
Hall of Fame offensive linemen don’t come around that often, but the Eagles have been lucky to have several candidates over the past decade.
