The NFL world is still in shock after Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers after 19 seasons. Several of Tomlin’s players, both current and former, have shared their reactions on social media, thanking Tomlin for all he’s done for them.

Some, though, have other thoughts.

On the latest episode of Deebo and Joe, former Steelers linebacker James Harrison told his co-host Joe Haden that he doesn’t believe Tomlin is a Hall of Fame coach for a multitude of reasons, one of which is his lack of coaching tree.

“He’s the only coach to coach this long and not have a tree,” Harrison said.

Harrison’s co-host, Joe Haden, then said Tomlin shouldn’t be punished for not having good offensive coordinators, to which Harrison fired back.

“And you think that is a thing he is bad at doing, or do you think that is a thing that he purposely does to keep position and power?”

Harrison then cites Tomlin’s 8-12 playoff record as not being worthy of a Hall of Fame selection.

Harrison has been the loudest critic of Tomlin amongst his former players, so this will come as little surprise to many that he feels this way.
