The Buffalo Bills running back wants a new deal.
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook reported to Buffalo Bills minicamp in the spring and said he would likely be at training camp. As it turns out, he did report and is at St. John Fisher University with his teammates.
Cook isn’t staging a hold in at this point, either, as he was fully participating in early on-field work Wednesday morning. Bills head coach Sean McDermott was very happy to have Cook in the fold as the running back looks for a new contract.
Cook has spent most of the offseason publicly demanding a new contract as he enters the final year of his rookie deal, even claiming he wants to be paid $15 million per year. The Bills haven’t budged off their number during negotiations, leading some to speculate there was bad blood. At least for now, the two sides are still working together on the field.
