Ja’Marr Chase may be fun in interviews, but he’s extremely serious about his offseason workout regimen.

In a recent piece on Chase and his personal trainer, Mo Wells, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com wrote that the star receiver asked Wells to come with him to Cabo so they could continue his 2.5-hour daily routine, even while Chase was on vacation.

Perhaps the most notable part of the interview with Wells, who directs Pro & Elite Sports at Elite Performance in Dallas, was that he thinks Chase still has a lot of room to grow as an athlete.

“I think he has probably another two, three years before he gets to peak physical shape of what he can be,” Wells says. “I think when he’s closer to 28, 29, 30.”

Hobson remarked that this was “astounding”, considering Chase’s already-impressive physique. “He easily deadlifts an elite 500 pounds with the trap bar,” The Bengals.com author wrote. “Wells says in the seven years he’s worked with him, Chase has hit the 99th percentile in ForceDeck, a sports science metric that tracks output.”

So there’s no telling what kind of numbers Chase will be putting up in his late 20s, assuming he stays healthy.

But while Chase, Joe Burrow, and Tee Higgins should have the offense humming again, the defense is still a work in progress.

Will they use the cap space created by restructuring Burrow’s contract toward a veteran linebacker?

We discuss in the video below.
