The NFL has handed Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase a one-game suspension for allegedly spitting on Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey. We say “allegedly” because Chase plans to appeal the suspension.
Ja’Marr Chase plans to argue in his appeal of the one game suspension that IF he was going to spit on Ramsey — which he is claiming he did not — then he would have aimed for the cornerback’s face and not on his jersey, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport
Unfortunately for Chase and Bengals fans, the field level footage of the incident makes it pretty indisputably clear that the star wide receiver spat at the Pro Bowl cornerback.

Should Chase’s suspension be upheld, the former LSU stand-out would miss the Bengals game against the New England Patriots over the weekend.
A viral post from NFL Network fantasy football analyst Michael Florio — which was cannot embed here because Twitter’s embeds aren’t working due to the fact that the website has been slowly but surely degraded in the years since Elon Musk purchased it — compared Chase’s defense strategy to the infamous Seinfeld episode that saw Jerry dissect Kramer and Newman’s claim that they were spit on by Keith Hernandez (which was a parody of the JFK assassination in and of itself).

With the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals dropped to 3-7 on the season as they’ve largely failed to keep their heads above water since losing Joe Burrow to injury in Week 2, going 1-7 since that point.
