This could bode well for Higgins long-term future with the Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals have assembled one of the best trios in the modern-day NFL in Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase, and Joe Burrow. However, keeping all three of them in the Queen City is easier said than done.
Burrow is in Cincinnati for the long haul as he inked a long-term extension during the 2023 offseason, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time. Higgins and Chase both have their future up in the air with both seeking a new deal ASAP.
As for Higgins, having a reliable agent is a big deal, especially when negotiating either his next deal with the Bengals or a deal with a new team. He recently parted ways with David Mulugheta and has now signed with Rocky Arceneaux, the agent of Chase as well.
“I just told him (Higgins), ‘We stuck for life now,’” Chase told reporters on Thursday.
However, while it might seem like there could be some behind-the-scenes conversations going on to help bring Higgins to Arceneaux, Chase looked like he didn’t really have much say on the matter.
“There really wasn’t many conversations. It’s a business decision. I’m not gonna tell him what to do. This is what he wants to do at the end of the day,” Chase said.
Will this mean that Higgins has a better chance of staying in Cincinnati? Well, that’s certainly still up in the air, and Chase added that he wants Higgins to do what’s best for him regarding his next career move.
Let’s just say it feels like a small win in a war that has only had setbacks.
