PITTSBURGH — Jalen Ramsey has a Super Bowl ring. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ veteran safety, a three-time Associated Press first-team All-Pro, has seen what it takes to succeed in the postseason.

As the Steelers try to punch their ticket into the playoffs over the home stretch of the regular season, the road hasn’t been without its bumps. Just two weeks ago, fans called for longtime head coach Mike Tomlin’s job as his team was trounced by the Buffalo Bills at home.

Ramsey didn’t hold back when asked what he thought about the anger aimed at Tomlin.

“This is only my first year here, so I can’t speak on everything that’s went on in the past here (with) not being here, but it’s tough, obviously,” Ramsey said after Saturday’s practice at Acrisure Stadium. “This is my 10th year in the league. I’ve been to the playoffs maybe — I don’t know — three or four times. Maybe had playoff wins maybe twice. It’s tough. I mean, it’s the NFL. Any type of success you can get, though, you cling onto it.

“Me personally, I thought the chants were bullshit. I mean, that’s comical, in my mind.”

Ramsey was on the Jacksonville Jaguars team that downed the Steelers in the divisional round in 2018. He won Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. Meanwhile, Tomlin’s crew hasn’t won a postseason contest since 2017.

Tomlin offered his own thoughts on the matter on the Tuesday after losing to the Bills, cracking a smile before answering a question about it.

“In general, I agree with them — from this perspective. Football is our game. We’re in the sport entertainment business. And so, if you root for the Steelers, entertaining them is winning. And so, when you’re not winning, it’s not entertaining.

“And if you’ve been in this business, you understand that. And so, I respect it. I share frustrations. I understand what makes this thing go, and winning is what makes this thing go.”
