The Pittsburgh Steelers ended their two-game losing streak in emphatic fashion against the Indianapolis Colts. Their defense, which was ice cold and ranked dead last in stopping the pass, forced six takeaways and held the NFL’s best offense to seven points through three quarters and defeated Indianapolis 27-20.

It was as close to a must-win as a Week 9 game could get for Pittsburgh. A loss would have put them at 4-4 and given them their third straight loss before a cross-country trip to face the Chargers in Los Angeles. Speaking to the media after the game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that cornerback Jalen Ramsey gave a speech to the team ahead of Week 9.

“Gotta give 5 a lot of credit for his leadership the last 24 hours… something kind of changed last night when Jalen spoke,” Rodgers said. “It’s not easy to speak in front of the team even when you’re a player. It’s unnatural. Coaches are used to it because they do it every single day. Mike is fantastic at it. Jalen kind of went on and on and had the attention of the room and said some really good stuff.”

Not only has Ramsey brought a ton to the Steelers in terms of on-field presence, but the leadership factor is clearly there, and something that will certainly benefit the Steelers in the long run this season.
