Jalen Hurts can do it all, including winning a Super Bowl. Now, he is using his talents for something else.
Hurts authored a championship performance in Super Bowl LIX, accounting for three total touchdowns to earn MVP honors in the 40-22 victory over the Chiefs.
Fast forward to June 2025, and now he’s the author of a children’s book.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to redefine what it means to be a modern NFL superstar. On Monday, the Super Bowl LIX MVP announced the release of his first children’s book, “Better Than a Touchdown,” set to hit shelves on March 10, 2026.
The announcement came in a sentimental Instagram video filmed at his childhood elementary school in Houston, Texas. “It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own children’s book, and today, that dream finally comes true,” Hurts said.
Illustrated by Nneka Myers and published by Penguin Random House, “Better Than a Touchdown” tells the story of a boy named Jalen who is excited to try out for his school football team—only to learn the program has been cut.
The publisher describes the book as “a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.”
Hurts won Super Bowl LIX with the Philadelphia Eagles, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs after previously losing to them in Super Bowl LVII.
Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Eagles are the favorite to win two in a row.
After what Jalen Hurts and the Eagles did to the Chiefs, no one can count them out from making it back once again.
