The Las Vegas Raiders announced their inactive players for Sunday’s game at the Kansas City Chiefs.

Starting wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and star tight end Brock Bowers are both out. Meyers was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, while Bowers was listed as doubtful. Both players practiced Friday for the first time this week. Meyers was dealing with knee and toe injuries while Bowers has a knee injury.

ESPN reported Friday that Bowers wasn’t wearing a knee brace in practice, which is significant. It was his first time practicing since October 1. He was injured in Week 1, but played through the injury for the next three weeks. He has missed the past two games.

Earlier in the week, Raiders coach Pete Carroll said Bowers was making progress, but he also noted it might be smart to allow Bowers to rest until after their bye next week. Thus the team will now aim to get Bowers to return for a Week 9 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Michael Mayer will start for Bowers again.

Meyers worked out Sunday morning before the final decision was made. Expect rookie Jack Bech to play a lot for Meyers.

Backup wide receiver/returner Alex Bachman was questionable with an ankle injury. He is active.

Here are the Raiders’ other inactive players:

Meanwhile, the Chiefs will be without rookie tackle Josh Simmons again because of personal reasons. He wasn’t with the team Sunday when they beat the Detroit Lions and he didn’t practice all this week. He was ruled out Friday. Jaylon Moore will continue to play for him.
