The Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4) will fly from the Rocky Mountains to the Midwest to face the Indianapolis Colts (8-6 at the time of this writing) at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, Dec. 28.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Jaguars are 6.5-point favorites and the total is set at 45.5 points.

The Colts play tonight on Monday Night Football against the 10-4 San Francisco 49ers. If they lose, the Jaguars will clinch a spot in the 2025-26 NFL playoffs.

Indianapolis has dropped five of its last six games, including two straight since Daniel Jones was lost for the season at EverBank Stadium. Colts general managers Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen decided to call up their old buddy Philip Rivers — who is literally a grandfather — to step in for Jones. Last week’s result at Lumen Field: 18 for 27 (66.7%), 120 yards (4.4 YPA), 1 TD, 1 INT, 73.1 passer rating.

Rivers’ average pass traveled 5.9 air yards.

Tonight’s primetime game will provide a preview for Jaguars fans, although most of Duval County probably couldn’t care less about their divisional opponent (outside of the result’s effect on clinching scenarios).

Jacksonville just won its sixth straight game, an emphatic road victory against the AFC No. 1 seed Denver Broncos to finish 4-0 on the West Coast this season. Pretty impressive for a small-market team.
