The Jaguars are adding to their offensive line by signing former Eagles offensive tackle Fred Johnson.
The Jaguars have made the first free agent signing on Wednesday by agreeing to terms with former Eagles offensive tackle Fred Johnson. The 6β7, 326-pound blocker has spent the last three seasons in Philadelphia providing depth behind on of the best starting units in the NFL.
Johnson originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Florida, signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers following that yearβs draft. He lasted with the team until mid-October before being waived. Not long after, Johnson signed with the Cincinnati Bengals where heβd go on to remain through the next two seasons (2020-2021). Johnson would then sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season, but was later cut that season in November before signing with Philly a week later.
At Florida, Johnson started four games at right tackle and 28 at right guard for the Gators. He now returns back home to an offensive tackle group that features Walker Little, Anton Harrison, Chuma Edoga, and Cole Van Lanen.
