Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen spoke with the media following Day 2 of Rookie Minicamp at the Miller Electric practice fields. Here are a few takeaways from practice and Coen's media availability.

The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off Rookie Minicamp on Saturday, showcasing the new crop of rookie talents acquired in the 2025 NFL Draft, headlined by wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter. Joining the draft class was an impressive crop of undrafted free agents (UDFAs) and a few notable veteran players. In total, 34 players attended on Saturday, up from the 31 players in 2024’s rookie minicamp. Of this number, 22 participants were undrafted free agents.

Takeaways from Day 2 of Rookie Minicamp

Travis Hunter continued his practice of practicing without gloves, coming away with multiple clean catches and no drops on the day. He was clean out of his breaks on the majority of routes and only one instance of a ball being caught with his body, instead of his hands. Breaking news: Travis Hunter looks the part.

Fourth round RB Bhayshul Tuten had himself a solid day early on, looking smooth throughout drills and in the alignment/assignment periods. However, he did suffer one of the only drops on the day.

Speaking of drops, Tuten's counterpart, seventh round pick RB LeQuint Allen had none on the day, looking extremely smooth both in his routes and catching the ball.

There weren't too many takeaways for the big guys, with rookie camp being more about orienting to the NFL playbook, processes, communication, and such (IE: primarily about the skill guys). However, with only three offensive linemen in attendance, OL Wyatt Milum manned multiple offensive line spots throughout practice. This may have been simply out of necessity, with the limited options or a larger plan for acclimated moving forward. Only time will tell.

After practice, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen spoke with the assembled media to provide his takeaways from Day 2 on the grass for the rookie class.

Post-Practice Media Availability:

Hunter to begin practicing on defense next week

Everyone’s favorite Jacksonville Jaguar, Travis Hunter has been pretty much THE topic of conversation for fans and media alike. As the team’s leadership mentioned earlier this off-season, Hunter will initially play on the offensive side of the ball, to later add his defensive orientation. Today Coen mentioned that the plan would be for Hunter to begin practicing with the defense next week.

“He’ll be able to get integrated next week on the defensive side of the ball. We just kind of ended up making a decision that, from yesterday to today, we wanted to be able to clean up some of the things that we may have been able to miss yesterday, get extra reps on the offensive side of the ball, and next week, he’ll start to roll on defense.”

He continued...

“He’s been able to dive in and learn some of our three-deep coverages, what do we call our three-deep coverages on the outside, if he has to be...
